Who You Are

Shallow lines and promises I give you none.
I wouldn’t die without you; you’re not the only one.
I don’t think you’re perfect; you don’t worship me, but
All we’ve got is who we are and who we’re gonna be.

You’re the sunshine through a thunderstorm,
The porch light on a foggy night when I’m

coming home.
You’re the candle when the power’s out,
The moonlight from behind the clouds.
That’s who you are, that’s who you are to me.

There are things about us that we’d rather hide
Working themselves out from where we’ve had them

locked inside.
But years ago we vowed we’d never shy away;
We’re not always happy but ever after starts today.

When I’m down you hold me through the

sleepless nights.
You push the shadows back until the morning light.
