Schedule Me Sad

© 2013 by Christopher and Maria Clymer Kurtz

I can’t spare a minute;
Wanting you takes all my time.
Like poetry I read you;
Your verses captivate my mind.

Each time I see you coming,
I try in vain to catch your eye.
I’m hoping you’ll discover
Destinies that intertwine.

Schedule me sad, lonely for you.
Mark me in ink, permanent blue.
Draw me in words over the pages,
Intimate lines and exquisite phrases.
Schedule me sad; schedule me soon.

If you would write me lovely,
Turn a naked eye on me,
I’d be your inspiration:
Sugar metaphors for me.

You have never noticed me.
Beyond a glance you’ll never see,
My castle built of dreams where we
Could live in poetry.
