When the Dark Will Subside

I know what it’s like to love somebody, to love somebody as lonely as me.
And when the curtains undraw my history before me,
I know what it’s like to be dark in the light.

When the dark will subside in the time of fulfillment,
Meteors from the sky falling down to the ground,
All around, and everything will be right.

I know what it’s like, paralyzed with longing, sleepless for the thorn in my side.
And to wait…and know that in the morning, the foggy eyes of day will make me rise.

Yes it’s hard to be me and to see clearly
But in my dreams, my sleep holds me.
